I was literally laughing out loud as I read this news story. My favorite line: "The father declined to press charges and told police he doesn't want to ruin his son's political career."

OK, let's review.

IF YOU:

• are 28 years old,


• are a school board member,


• live in your parents' basement,


• have a bedroom messy enough to cause an argument,


• get in an argument with your parents about said bedroom,


• see throwing a plate of food across a kitchen table as a legitimate means of engaging in said argument,


• let the argument escalate to the point of someone calling 911 over your actions,


• make the local news because of the 911 call,


• draw enough attention that the Associated Press picks up the story,


• are highlighted in the "News of the Weird" section,

THEN:

• your political career is already over.
